The Helden Distillery stands on the rim of the Vredefort Dome — a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the world's largest and oldest verified meteor impact structure, and the most distinctive piece of terroir in South African spirits.

Founder Pieter van Helden, a chemical engineer by training, started distilling at seventeen. Twenty years later, he leads a team that holds five doctorates between them — and South Africa's most innovative whisky house.
